Fresh. Fabulous. Fun. Here is your fall decor guide that makes decorating as easy as one, two, three!
Come along with us as we show you some creative ideas to get your home ready for fall. We’ll help you think outside the box, using more creativity and less money.
I don’t know about you, but I don’t have tons of extra time or money to re-do my decor every season. And honestly, I don’t have a lot of space to store tons of seasonal decor items. Does that stop me? No way. I’m not one to let a little budget restriction or storage issue stop me from what I love to do. So, here are my three fresh ideas to help make your fall decor fabulous. Come along on my tour of my fresh and fabulous fall decor.
My Fall Decor Home Tour
Fall Decor Favorites: Flowers
It’s no secret that my biggest go-to item for changing up my decor is well, not really “decor” at all. I’m not buying new furniture or stocking up on decor items either. I’m headed to the grocery store, and on occasion the San Francisco Flower Market and stocking up on flowers, seasonal flowers to be exact. So, to add to my fall decor I went with sun flowers. Then pumpkin colored Dahlias entered the scene. And finally, mums which are especially perfect for the outdoor spaces.
I’ll admit it. I have been called such names as “pillow hoarder” and “pillow obsessed.” I’m not entirely proud of this title but I won’t deny it either. I love pillows because, let’s face it, they pack a punch. They are the power-house of decor. They are anything you want them to be: colorful, neutral, soft and cuddly, dramatic and bold.
Add texture where you want, color when it’s needed and pattern for fun. They can command the stage or sit back in the background and blend in. They can be inexpensive (the way I buy them), and they are easy. Throw them in or out, adjust them to fit your space. And when your want to change them out simply unzip them, swap them out for new covers. To store, simply fold and stack until you need them again.
Pumpkins are the King of Fall Decor
Pumpkins are to fall decor what Christmas trees are to Christmas. They are symbolic of the entire season and they are, quite frankly, adorable. Don’t know how to make a room look like fall? Add a pumpkin and suddenly you have embraced the heart of the season in one fell swoop.
Why, oh why, do I love pumpkins so much? Let’s go back to my fall decor mantra: FRESH, FABULOUS and FUN. Pumpkins embody the essence of each of these adjectives without even trying. Plus, (as if you need any more convincing) real or faux, they are incredibly versatile and come in every size, shape, style, price point and color imaginable. And even some that are un-imaginable.
Outdoor Fall Decor
I use the exact same elements to decorate my front door and my back yard. Humming my fresh, fabulous and fun mantra I bring out the same fall decor that I love for my indoors. I use seasonal flowers, pillows and pumpkins.
